29th Street Music Studios officially opened in Sept 2014 . The school offers many different lessons including drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, ukulele, banjo and piano. We are open 4 days a week from 3pm and closed on Fridays for now.
Students as young as 5-6 years old to adults are currently enrolled for lessons. Some students will expand their lessons to an hour which gives them more time per week for learning. Usually twice a year we try to put on a concert, with full PA system and lights to showcase the students. This concert has normally taken place in the auditorium of the Vernon Christian Fellowship Church on 29th Street. This adds a practical application for students and they get to play as a member of a “rock band”, and learn how to play their part to add to the sound of the band.
We offer limited lessons during the summer at a special cost of 8 lessons for the price of 7. There is also hope, that with enough interest and students, we might try to start up a rock band class in the summer for those that want to experience playing music with others.
Our school follows most of the same holidays that the schools offer (except for the Pro-D days) such as closed for Christmas break and Spring Break as well as the statuary holidays.
We have the opportunity for existing students that are taking lessons in June to pre-register for lessons in the fall with a greater choice of instructor, which day and time of lessons. Payment for classes is paid on a monthly basis in advance of the classes…ie: payment is made on the first of the month for the following month and if a student has decided to stop taking lessons we ask for a 2 week notice in order to try to fill the vacant spot.
